Laundry Baskets & Bins
Where do you keep your laundry basket? In the bathroom? The bedrooms? The utility room? Wherever you choose to keep it, we've got one that will fit perfectly, in size, in colour and in material. Read on to see what we have in our collection.
Laundry baskets
Traditional laundry baskets have always been the wicker type. They're great at holding all your washing while it waits to go to wash, but because it's not airtight, the ventilation stops smells from building up – especially important with damp towels and wet clothes. Wicker also has that homely, rustic feel that is always a welcome addition to the home.
If you prefer something a little more modern, our bamboo baskets are superb, especially if you have bamboo details or plenty of tropical plants in the bathroom. They're rigid and tough, but light to carry, and you'll get years of service from them. A laundry bag is also a popular choice. It's only ever as big as the contents within it, and it's easy to pick and carry to the washing machine when the time comes. Ours have cool printed designs and many have a real urban feel to them.
Pop-up laundry baskets are spring-loaded so they can be flattened, but form a cylinder when they are allowed to expand. Throw in a pretty print and you've got a striking washing basket that's handy and light. A fabric basket could look great in your home – there's no limit to the designs and colours you can have, so there's sure to be one that suits your decor. Some of them fold flat when not in use – check the product descriptions for details.
Finally, we have loads of plastic laundry baskets. Made of good quality plastic, they're light and waterproof, ideal for carrying washing from room to machine and from machine to washing line. You could also choose a plastic basket as your permanent laundry basket – some of them look just like wicker.
Laundry bins and hampers
A solid laundry bin has a more formal feel to it, like a trusty cabinet in the bedroom or bathroom. They do exactly the same job as a basket, of course, although you probably wouldn't carry it to the machine – it's best to empty it out into a portable basket to take to the machine.
